FAQ
What businesses ask first
Is DGUV V3 testing really mandatory?
Yes. DGUV Vorschrift 3 is an accident prevention regulation and is binding on business owners. In addition, the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health requires work equipment to be tested before first use and at recurring intervals thereafter. Anyone unable to produce a documented test has a problem with the employers liability insurance association and their insurer if damage occurs, regardless of whether the device was the cause.
At what intervals does testing have to take place?
The interval follows from your risk assessment. DGUV Information 203-071 gives guide values: for portable devices in office and practice environments usually 24 months, considerably shorter in harsh conditions, and for fixed installations four years as a guide. For medical devices the manufacturer specification applies. We propose the interval for each group of devices, give our reasons and record it in the report.
How long does testing take on site?
As a rough guide: 12 to 15 portable devices per hour, a beauty studio with 10 to 15 devices in about two hours, a practice with 15 to 20 medical devices in about three hours. Each individual device is occupied for only a few minutes. We schedule the appointment outside your treatment and opening hours.
What does a test cost?
Charging is by number of devices in bands, plus travel where applicable. The complete bands are set out on the prices page, so you do not need to request a quote just to get an idea of the order of magnitude. We prepare a binding quote as soon as we know which devices are present and how many.
Do we have to close during the test?
No. For portable devices and medical devices we work device by device, without interrupting your business. Only when testing fixed installations do individual circuits have to be switched off briefly. We agree that in advance too and place it in periods when no treatment is running.
