What applies since the Solar Package I
For plug-in solar devices up to 800 VA inverter output and 2,000 Wp module output, registration with the network operator has been dropped. What remains is the simplified registration in the market master data register, with only a few details.
Above that limit things look different: the rules for photovoltaic systems feeding into the grid then apply, and for those a company entered in the installer register is responsible. Before you order, we tell you which side of that line your project falls on.

Does a plug-in solar system have to be registered with the network operator?
Since the German Solar Package I, no longer. For plug-in solar devices up to 800 VA inverter output and 2,000 Wp module output, registration with the network operator no longer applies. What remains is the simplified registration in the market master data register, which you as the operator carry out yourself. We show you which details are needed for it.
Why involve a specialist at all for a plug-in device?
Because the most common problems are not in the device but in what sits behind it: ageing circuits, sockets without adequate protection, multi-way adaptors in the chain. We look at the circuit before anything feeds into it, and we mount the modules so that they are still hanging there after the first storm.
What applies above 800 VA?
Then it is no longer a plug-in solar device, and the rules for photovoltaic systems feeding into the grid apply: registration with the network operator and commissioning by a company entered in the installer register. Get in touch and we will tell you how that can be arranged.
Does it pay off for a business?
Most of all where there is a continuous base load during the day: refrigeration, devices on standby, lighting. A studio with daytime opening hours fits well, a business operating in the evening less so. We work it out roughly beforehand instead of selling it to you.
